  • don't bother if you are tall

    paul (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
the bike is nice enough but unless you are shorter than about 5'8 with tiny arms the riding position is leaning back. it is a stable ride but i'm 5'10 and after 1/2 mile my legs were aching and my knees hurt. i have riden a folding bike every day for the past 5 years. despite me tightening the seat it gave way and nearly tipped me off into traffic after about 3/4 mile, shortly after i had to get off and walk. will try retightening the saddle and see what happens on the way home but the bike will probably have to go back.
    Response of the brand
You are correct in saying that if you're taller than 5'11 then this bike is too small for the rider. But 5'10 should be fine.
Even so, I will forward this on to the frame designer. Our next model up (the tilt 500) is suitable for riders up to 6'2.5".
If it's not quite right for you then please return it to us for a refund.

  • Tilt 120 Folding Bike

    Michael (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Only used once so far. Easy to fold and stow in car. Fun to ride with effective gear change. Only problem to date was the security of the saddle to the seat post, which resulted in the saddle rotating when you were riding. Extra tightening of the securing bolt has sorted this for now, but may need a better fix in the future.
  • Red Tilt 120 - Great !

    Peter (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
I bought one of these both to save space at home and to be able to transport it in the boot of my car from time to time.

I was a little concerned because in the advertising bumph on the site here it described it as " For Occasional Use ". . . . I decided to buy one despite this and I've used it to cycle to work nearly every day in Central London for the past three months ( About Five Miles Each Way. )

Seems adequately robust to me - No problems at all if you use it for normal riding and don't do anything crazy like jumping up and down pavements.

Nice smooth positive changes of gear with the the twist grip and derailleur.

Seems to have a well designed frame in terms of geometry . . . . It's lovely and positive to steer even rolling at very low speeds. . . . No tendency to wobble in the way I've experienced with previous " High Rise " folding bikes I've owned.

Actually except that you have to pedal faster because of the small wheels, the experience is much similar to riding a normal bike in my opinion.

It came equipped with perfectly adequate components all round, though due to personal taste I have replaced some of these including upgrading the seat and pedals. . . . Though as I said the original were perfectly good and serviceable.

I also replaced the tires with fatter BMX ones which are more resistant to puncturing . . . This meant I had to remove the mudguards with which it was originally equipped. . . . Never Mind !

I recommend also buying the extra little bag to hang over the handle bars . . . It's only a few quid and a super handy addition. . . . Great Idea !

Now ! . . . One thing . . . When I took it out of it's box, it did have a large paint chip on the frame where the hinge mechanism is and there was no front light . . . ( I understood it came with both front and back lights. ) . . . That's the only reason I'm reluctantly giving a four and not five star rating like it deserves.

I would be nicer if the seat post was just a little longer and if the gearing could be higher - Bigger chain wheel.

It's probably a bit nit picking to say, but it is a fairly heavy bike to lift. . . . . But it's no big deal . . . Makes little or no difference when riding.

It's quite cute and stylish, many people compliment me on it and I've been asked questions about several times when waiting at traffic lights !

I think red is the best colour.

All in all I would say it's excellent value for money . . . I certainly recommend it !

I've ridden many bikes of different types and price ranges ( Including a pricey Cannondale MTB ) for about forty years . . . This is one of my favorites !

If you want a stylish convenient no nonsense folding bike for normal use at a good price . . . . This is the one to buy,

    I'm really happy with mine ! . . . . That's why I wrote all this !

They say you get what you pay for, but I feel this could be the exception !
  • Tilt 120 folding bike.

    Paul (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Bike kick stand missing, fitted one but wrong size, fitted another but not original for bike. No front light that comes with purchase. Scratch on steel frame, could rust eventually. Seat slipping because of worn fitting. Front mud guard not centred, original sales man said that's the best he can do, but we asked another sales person that eventually centred it. Reasonable price, bike not too bad if you can get it out of the shop in proper condition.
  • It is very fun and stylish bike.

It does have very different feeling from a standard bike because the centre of gravity is different. It only takes me few minute to get use to it. It like. Easy to use. And it look very modern and cute. Many ppl ask and they love the idea of how easy it folds. I'm chuff to bits with everything of this bike has to offer and the price is absolutely great.
