Care products: waterproofing spray or liquid in the machine To renew the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
    7. Waterproof component
This garment has been shower-tested using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
    8. Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
    9. Water repellency
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every three washes). All Quechua waterproof jackets have received water-repellent treatment.
    10. Environmental measurements
The environmental impact of each product is calculated for the product's entire life cycle, using different indicators. • Water seeps through zip

Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I regularly use this jacket while traveling anywhere. It is one rugged product, good water resistance. However, the zip is not waterproof. The water seeps through it.
    • Does the job

Nice lightweight jacket at a good price. Seems to keep the rain off as required. A couple of improvements could be to have a zip cover on the outside held down with Velcro and deeper pockets that mean things can be put in them without having to zip them up every time to stop it falling out. Other than that it's pretty good coat.
    • Great choice

Great value for money, keep my boy dry & warm at a very rainy festival. Not a thin flimsy coat.
    • Quality of the zip is bad

    • Can't sustain even 15 minutes of rain.

I bought this as the product description page states this garment has been shower-tested using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours and it is waterproof but while using it I found that water was seeping from pockets and i got wet in 15 minutes. I think, Rain cut hiking jacket it more reliable than this. I hope Quechua will improve the quality of this product. I am disappointed for the first time bcz of this product.
