    Product feature
    1. Field test
All our backpacks are tested in the field by users who represent the target market under conditions identical to those found in typical use. Our "Missions Tests" put the product manager in contact with people who are not affiliated with Quechua to test, develop and validate the products.
    2. Laboratory test
Backpack components are approved in laboratory tests, includingfabric, buckles, webbing, foam, zips, etc. Fabrics are tested for resistance to rubbing, tearing, colour-fastness under UV rays, washing, waterproofing...A test on the final product, which speeds up the effects of impact on the backpack over the years, to check resistance of the assemblies: the backpack is weighted then placed on a dummy which then reproduces the movement of fast walking through thousands of cycles.
    3. 10-year technical partnership guarantee
The heavy stitching research and development department, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating backpack ageing. The tests focused on components, seams and the end product. As a result of these tests, Quechua can guarantee all bags tested for a duration of 10 years from the date of purchase indicated on the sales receipt.
    4. Warranty of 10 years, conditions
The guarantee covers any backpack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year guarantee will only be granted upon presentation of the product and sales receipt. If the product is covered by the warranted, it will be repaired or exchanged for free. This commercial guarantee does not affect any statutory guarantees that are applicable in the country of purchase.
    5. How is backpack volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
    6. How to adjust my backpack?
1- Loosen all the buckles (straps, belt, load boosters). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - For bags of 50 l and more, place the belt on your hips (it must cover the pelvic iliac bones) and tighten it. For smaller volumes, place the belt around the waist. 4 - Tighten the shoulder straps. 5- Adjust the load boosters to your liking.
    7. How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Place heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet should be placed under the flap and the tent beneath the pack if there is no space inside. Keep a rainproof jacket and fleece close at hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
    8. Environmental measurements
The environmental impact of each product is calculated for the product's entire life cycle, using different indicators. A general ABCDE mark is attributed to help you identify the best environmental performance by comparing products to each other (t-shirts, rucksacks, etc). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of the environmentally-friendly labelling approach. For more information visit:

    • Best purchase ever

      Anisha (India)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I purchased the bag from Decathlon, Vytila. It's very handy and light weight compared to other bags of similar 40 L capacity. It have back support which helps to carry the items without any pressure on the shoulders and back. It has been 2 weeks since i got this product. It became my permanent bag for hiking now and loved it a lot. I would recommend decathlon to add some more compartments and also a rain cover for bag.
    • Brilliant Backpack

      Zahir (India)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I had the pleasure of taking this backpack on short 9 day backpacking tour in South India. Even though it was packed to the brim and tossed on state run buses, this backpack held together like a charm. Loved that it balanced out beautifully and equalised the load efficiently. It’s top pocket is no steroid - I had a novel, battery pack, medicines and random stuff in it with a lot of space left. Would have rated it 5 but I missed a rain cover pocket and some additional pockets within the main compartment.
