Weight, volume and dimensions can vary slightly due to manufacturing tolerances

Inner space

Length of the bedroom 215 cm
Width of the bedroom 180 cm at the head and 140 cm at the feet
Height of the bedroom 95 cm
The large front porch (storage space between the bedroom and the flysheet) is 100 cm deep and 190 cm wide, more or less 2 m² offering a large storage and living space. Sheltered from bad weather, this can be used to store 3 backpacks with 50 to 70 L volume approximately, and to store and organise your bivouacking equipment.
3 pockets in bedroom.

Architecture, tent poles and tent pegs

Lightweight, shock and frost resistant aluminium pole: 7001 T6 Yunan SD70PF Ø 9 mm and Ø 9.5 mm aluminium.
Optimised square tent pegs: “anvil” head, oversized main part, extremely resistant and lightweight (7075 T6 aluminium). Non-anodised for a lower world impact.

The two tent poles form a tunnel that is not free-standing. This structure forms a very light tent that needs to be fixed to the ground and does not stay up alone.

Pitching/striking

Extremely quick pitching/striking. The flysheet and bedroom are pre-assembled. Insert the tent poles into the flysheet cover. It is also quick to strike.
To store the tent in its bag, fold the tent in half to about the length of the bag, fold up the poles into a bundle onto the bedroom or flysheet, roll everything up tightly to slide into the bag.

Waterproofing

Forclaz tents are laboratory-tested: pitched tent, 200 litres/sqm/hour (3 hours, equivalent to a tropical storm). They are also tested in the field by a sample user group.
20 denier polyester (PES) flysheet and 40D polyamide (PA) groundsheet have a polyurethane coating (inside) and silicone (exterior).
Seams taped with heat-sealed strips.
Multi-component bedroom combining breathability, wind protection and prevents condensation

Wind resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind.
To test its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70km/h, measured near ground level.

Our tents are certified by the CSTB independent laboratory in Nantes.

Ventilation and condensation prevention

Bedroom with mosquito screen for ventilation and water-repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. Large vent at front of tent and additional vent at feet end.
To reduce condensation inside your tent, it must be properly pitched, with the fabric kept taut without being over-stretched. Vents and good air flow will help reduce humidity inside your tent.

Seasons

3-season tent: your tent will protect you from the harsh weather conditions you can encounter in the spring, summer or autumn. It will withstand light snowfall but is not designed to withstand heavy loads that would weigh on the structure.
In case of snow, remember to shake your tent regularly in order to bring down any snow that has accumulated to avoid putting too much weight on the structure of your tent.

Repairs and After-sales service

As designers and users who love our playing field, we care about the robustness of our products, that’s why all our tents are designed to be repairable.
You will find the detachable parts (poles, bedroom, etc.) in store or in the workshop of your local Decathlon, or on the website.
If you have a problem, don't hesitate to have your tent looked at in your local Decathlon store.

Repair kit (ferrule, patch): 20 g

Robust

Your tent is designed for itinerant bivouacking, it is therefore not designed for static use in the sun.
We recommend that you avoid leaving it in the sun as the ultra-light fabrics can be sensitive to UV light, that damages them.

Tips for storage and maintenance

Do not wash
Do not bleach
Do not tumble dry
Do not iron
Do not dry-clean

Storage tips

Storage: after use or cleaning, wait until the tent is perfectly dry before putting it away in order to avoid bad smells and mould.

Restrictions on use

For more comfort, use a mummy-shaped mattress.

TESTS AND WARRANTY

Test product

The waterproofing of Quechua tents is tested with 200 litres of water/m²/H (tropical rain) sprayed for 4 hours on a pitched tent with no water from getting in through the seams, flaps, openings, zips, etc. The water column test (=mm Schmerber) measures the waterproof rating of the fabric. Wind resistance: tents are set up in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform to expose each side of the tent to the wind. We also carry out numerous field tests in real-life conditions.

Agree by

This tent has been tested and validated in the field in real-life conditions. It was used for 5 weeks by several people who went trekking in the Canary Islands for 2 weeks, followed by 3 weeks on the GR10 route in the Pyrenees. It was also tested by Tom and Alex for almost 18 months in Asia and Oceania.

Parts guarantee

5 years. All our tents are repairable. Parts and information in store or on our website
