This tent is pretty good for the most part. I have taken it on 3 treks so far and it is holding up well. It is quick to set up once you learn how it works. Unfortunately, the fly is at a different angle to the tent making it difficult to orientate the tent once you get to your campsite. The other problem with this ten is the poles are attached to the fly making it impossible to split up the tent amongst multiple people. The only other concern I had was that the zippers are quite lightweight, and could potentially break easily.
I do like the unique aesthetics of this tent however. It is quite innovative. The tent is quite roomy with plenty of space for 2 people, you could also probably squeeze 3 people in a pinch. I especially liked the gear net it is very helpful.
Overall a good tent for people just getting into hiking as it is cheap and fairly good quality.
I bought this tent in Dec with plans for bike packing trips this year. Although I have only used it once so far, it was easy to pitch, and for a tent of this type, it was spacious inside. (I am 180cm tall and could comfortably sit up in the tent. When laid down it did not feel like my head or feet were pushing on the flysheet.) For one person it is very roomy. It looks big enough for 2, provided you don't have too much stuff with you. The porch areas are quite limited in size. The aluminium poles and pegs are very light and overall the tent design seems well thought out. The packed size makes it ideal for strapping to a bike rack. The colour is also great.
I was looking for a tent that was small enough for one + kit, but had enough headroom to kneel up & "live" in it for several days. It still needed to be easy/quick to put up on my own in the dark, and pretty lightweight.
The Quickhiker 2 is a perfect size for me + my kit (but you definitely could sleep 2 for the odd night, though as with all 2man tents it would be tight and there wouldn't be much room for kit too!)
I have used this tent year round, and never had a problem - it has good ventilation, yet the inner isn't totally mesh so it's fine camping in winter & the flysheet goes right down giving good wind/rain protection.
Very stable, easy & quick to pitch, lightweight, useful little porch each side (not very big but great for muddy boots etc) and goes back in its bag easily. The only negative is that the groundsheet is thin - would LOVE a footprint but I've used it without a problem now many, many times!
This tent performs far better than you may expect for the price, and has features seldom seen at this weight/pricepoint - in particular the headroom. I really cannot fault it and strongly encourage Decathlon/Quechua to keep this tent in their range - it is a far superior tent to many of the Vangos which are its direct competitors in the marketplace!
great headroom! Amazing tent for the price/weight
ONLY negative is the thin groundsheet
Bought this for a 4 week backpacking trip in portugal with the girlfriend. Both agreed it was the best purchase of our trip. Can be a bit snug for 2, but we survived 4 weeks together without killing each other, so there is defo enough space for a relationship to survive! was excellent for warm and cold nights and the ventilation is excellent. The 2 entrances were really important for 2 people sharing for so long, and allowed for good airing on hot days.
The inner part of the tent never got any condensation thanks to the double layers and was great protection against mozzies etc when you wanted the outer doors open.
It is definitely a sturdy tent, easy to carry and put up/pack away. Can't recommend it enough!
sometimes outer shell zip would catch when closing
This tent was an emergency purchase during a cycle tour in France. It proved to have some good design features, to be well made from what appear to be quality materials and was excellent value. I particularly like the inner tent being made partly of a darker than normal material which makes sleeping easier. The short pole sections are easy to stow on a cycle. Two entrances are very useful with a small two person tent.
Dark inner tent, two entrances, short pole section
Nothing, I got more than I was expecting.
This is the best tent I've had, I love how the poles are on the tent, you just fit them together and push it through, so easy, plus it's nice and cosy inside with a couple of pockets and a shelf above for you to put your phone or keys.
I saw several videos of this tent and was hooked on its genius design. I wanted something lightweight, very portable and well ventilated for a cycle tour along the western coast of France next year. This tent is perfect. And it's kermit green!
Built in poles, excellent ventilation, lightweight
Absolutely nothing whatsoever
love this tent. used for 8 days on a cycling trip in france. withstood rain and wind. goes up easy -tough and old boots material.
im 6'4 and it was just long enough though my feet did touch the bottom of the tent at times.
hard pushed to find fault for £80.
great price, quality product
bit of a brick to carry around
This is the best tent I have seen and tried. I used it in snow, very cold weather, and carried it a long way. It is lightweight and small package, but roomy and wonderful inside. Has even a ceiling shelf and alot of genious solutions for better air venting and pockets, with easy to use pegs and hooks. Long enough for me and even taller people up to 190cm, and more than high enough ceiling. Strong quality material, good zippers, velcro patches here and there, and best of all- the inner tent was pre-attatched to the flysheet, so it all came up at once, no extra work! Amazing. It is up in less than 5 minutes (with frozen hands and mittens). The flysheet reaches the ground, so it is easy to seal around it with snow, to prevent wind going through it. I cooked inside it, with a gas stove, no problem, good ventilation. It is all I hoped it would be, and more. Who needs a house..?
Very strong ,easy mount, many practical features.
takes effort to put the poles in the holes.
