Have had this tent for 5 years and after heavy usage it has never failed even slightest. Super easy to set up and space/weight ratio is just amazing. While bike touring I was even able to carefully put my bike inside the storage area.
Is there any chance of this tent coming back? I'd really love to replace mine with another one!
thank you for your excellent feedback. For this tent model availability, please contact email@example.com.
Have a nice day.
The Decathlon QuickHiker did very well in a 5hr constant downpour for such a light tent.
Neither the seams or the groundsheet allowed water to penetrate and kept us dry throughout the rainfall.
I tried this tent on two different trips. The firdt time on scotland with a wet weather, everyday, the tent is drenched even without rain! I went to Decathlon to get another one and tried it again in Belgium, again, no rain but the tent is drenched only from morning dew... I can only hope I will be allowed to take another model now.
Hi Thomas, thank you for taking time to review the Quickhiker Ultralight 3-Person tent and sorry for the delay in responding. The tent has some features designed to try and combat the build-up of condensation, for example ventilation flaps at the front and rear, however in some conditions condensation build-up can occur, i'm sorry to hear about your negative experience. The next version of this tent is currently in development and we will pass on your experience to the developers and hopefully improve this aspect of our product. I hope your local store managed to find a satisfactory solution for you in the end.

The tent is brilliant except for the fact that mine didn't have a pegging point in the middle at the rear of the tent. I was going to leave review saying if it just had this it would he perfect but I have just noticed that in the images the tent does have a pegging point in the middle at the rear, I don't know if this is a new feature or if my tent just didn't get one put on
This tent was brilliant. Very easy to erect and the bag allowed you to pack if down tightly. I bought a groundsheet to go with it which I recommend. This was used for cycle touring New Zealand and it survived torrential rain, flooding, storms and extremely strong winds. There were a few small holes by the end of the trip but it is to be expected. The weight of the tent is hard to beat and especially for the price.
We've only use this tent once so far, we were really impressed with its water resistance and strength in the wind. We were camping on an airfield that was quite exposed to the elements. The weather was awful. However, it's got to be one of the most complicated tents to set up and pack down I've ever had! It is not as easy as the video illustrates. This is very frustrating especially if you are tired from a trekking/camping trip. I would reccomend this tent if you are either patient or good at packing tents otherwise I would probably look elsewhere next time. I'm 5ft 10 and my partner is shorter than me, we really struggled for space in this tent. It was hard to not knock the sides.
I got recently the ultralight quickhiker tent and i have been using it as a four seasons tent, the performance so far in the snow was great with temperatures around -4 during the night and with 6cm snow fall over it. The entrance lobby it is big enough for cooking and the inside is very wide ( for two people and the gear). In resume i would say that it is a good quality/price with good performance in winter conditions.
big,light and resistant
poles quality could be better
We used this tent for 5 months bike packing around Europe and it didnt miss a beat. The only issue we had was packing up on early morning departures as there was sometimes a condensation buildup on the underside of the fly. It would have been nice to be able to detach the inner from the outer tent, so this could be dried before packing away.
luckily it is very fast drying once the sun hits it.
Light, strong, waterproof, easy to erect and pack.
condensation sometimes an issue when packing.
Hi Nicholas, glad to hear the tent served its purpose, and thank you for your valuable feedback on the Quickhiker tent! We're certain your experience with this tent will help others make the right choice! We'll pass your feedback on to the product managers for them to improve the product. See you again!
This is a great design (as always with Decathlon tents). Roomy, quick to pitch and reasonably compact considering the price.
It is however completely let down by the floor which after a couple of weekends careful usage is clearly letting water in. I've just put it up for 3 day with nothing inside and damp has risen through the floor and the weather has been fine with no rain. In what purports to be a backpacking tent I think it is unacceptable to be expected to carry an additional groundsheet weighing 414g (nearly 1lb) made of exactly the same material as the existing floor, let alone be expected to pay £19.99 for it. That you feel a need to this groundsheet indicates to me that you know the floor alone is not waterproof/robust enough.
I have always raved about all things Decathlon because, well, normally they are brilliant. I am extremely disappointed to find Decathlon selling something that, quite honestly is not fit for purpose.
Another Decathlon great design
Rising damp comes up through the floor
I'm really sorry to hear about your inconvenience with this Quechua Quickhiker Ultralight backpacking tent.
I totally agree with you it shouldn't be the case with this tent.
I have already forwarded your feedback to our product manager in France.
If you are not satisfied with the waterproofness of the product you can return it to your closest store for an exchange or a refund.
