While this doesn't have the brightness or battery life of more expensive lamps, for the price it's very good. It sits comfortably on the head without moving, even on technical trails. Only criticism is that it doesn't show obstacles such as tree routes very well, but for shorter runs over non-technical trail or just as a back up (or to meet mandatory gear requirements) it's a good option if you don't want to spend too much.
I've had this for a year and it's been a comfortable and reliable head torch. I find it good for running on well maintained local trails. The beam is very focused so you don't get much in the way of "ambient" light. On easy, hard packed trails that's not a problem. But on more technical trails, like in the Peak District, it's much more difficult to avoid rocks, etc. But if you want to run around town or on easy trials I'd recommend it.
Love this head torch. Having the battery pack at the back is so good. You don't feel like your head is weighed down.
The two brightness settings are very good
Used for running and very happy with this.
Brilliant little lightweight unit which doesn't bounce around like my previous head torch
Perfect weight and light for trail runs at night
Tried new batteries but still nothing. Can't find any manual online. Tried holding the button down. Tried multiple presses. Surely i can't be that unlucky that it's faulty on arrival?
Sorry to hear that this head torch is not working for you. Normally once the batteries are in place you should only need to press and release the on button for it to work. Bought as present for dog walking friend who loves it.
Bought for partner who went out in the dark last night for a walk, and was chuffed at how useful it was. He walked up the old railway line and said he could see a good 5 to 6 foot circular ahead of him which is very handy in the pitch black of the countryside. He loves it.
perfect for nighttime mountain biking attaches easily to my helmet
this is the second of these torches we have bought. The first recharged via mini USB, this model now uses 3xAAA batteries. Both have pros and cons depending on if you are somewhere that it can be recharged or not! Haven't yet fully challenged the battery life of this one so can't comment on how long it will last, but potentially more useful being able to just carry spare batteries if off grid for more than a week or so.
