3 month review. Tent has been used and tested in lake district and Scotland highlands multiple times now. Used in heavy rain and hottest days. This is a fantastic tent for 2 people, not so much room but enough to have a good rest. Waterproofing work's well, had pitched this tent on a very wet areas and never had water coming into tent either. Super easy to pitch - max 10mins 1 person. Downsides - poor instructions, took extra time to pitch first time (this might be just me), built low so unable to sit inside (my height 6ft), storage area only on 1 side only so 2 hikers has to share same space. Also some of the poles got bent after first use, it stayed this way for 4 months now, doesn't affect tents performance just harder to push into each other. In anyway 5 stars, highly recommend.
I am a scout leader and have used this tent over and over again... Perfect bagged size and pitched size for one (i am rather big).
I usually put my bag and stuff inside the chamber, imstead of a second bed, and leave my boots under the porch.
Not much headroom (given the size and weight) but good enough when sitting down, no problem here for me...
I love all the features such as the unique pole attached to the tent, reflective cord (great with kids running around), ventilation and nets, etc
Super easy to set up. Outer pitch first, i leave the chamber attached. Pitch in a couple of minutes, a few pegs in the ground, put the pole in, adjust cords, and done!
On fixed camp (not hiking) i sometime add a tarp (decathlon again) on top of the open side as the side opening door can leave you exposed to rain when open.
A great tent, my go to for many years... Highly recommended, this tent should be recommended for scout and DoE.
I have had this tent for over 7 year and it has been amazing, for trip to Kenya, China, Wild Camping in the Uk. I was away last weekend with this tent in really high winds and out of our party 3 tents broke all MSR Tents and this little thing was still standing strong. I have just had to buy some new elastic for the pole which is to be expected considering the use and how long I have had it.
I bought this tent to take with us on a cycle trip along the Danube to Budapest. In the (unlikely) event that we can not find accommodation, the tent will be our shelter for the night.
Easy to erect, lightweight, comfortable and full of useful design features.
I would recommend this tent to anyone travelling light.
I've just got back from walking the South West Coast Path - 44 days.
For 35 of those I was in the tent, either on campsites or wildcamping - often on headlands. The best part of each day was getting the tent up and climbing in to lie down for a few minutes - usually after a long day walking. I found it extremely quick to put up and take down and it stood up to a fair battering of wind and rain with no problems at all. There's loads of space for one and a rucsac and although I haven't tried it with two people, I wouldn't anticipate a problem as the rucsac could sit in the porch area.
And only just over 2kg....
Value for money? - first class.
Great light weight tent.
Used wild camping on the South Downs this January. Dipped below freezing, wind and rain. I was very impressed. Stayed warm and dry. Using it solo there's plenty of room for admin while keeping sheltered and dry. I imagine for 2 people you'd just have room to sleep, and have to do kit admin outside.
Vents well, not much condensation. Very light. A breeze to put up. Has to be very taught to reduce noise in the wind. Very, very impressed.
I had chosen this tent for its weight and size closed. Designed for soft ground but with my technical acknowledged I was able to set it on a car park. I had camped on half of the word in three years and a pole just started to bend, no complaining about it. As the name said its Quick to open and easy to close.
I set up the tent in my garden in Thailand. Put a plastic sheet down first. A little difficult to get it stretched into a good shape so that it doesn't sag when you're inside.
It rained hard and no water came in. After a week, I noticed some wet patched on the ground sheet. Water had collected between the ground sheet and plastic sheet. Surprised to see it come through though.
Clipping open the sides was inadequate but I used plastic clothes pegs.
In Thailand, it felt humid and claustrophobic, except in the hard rain which was nice. I want to try an additional sun shade with a small tarp.
All in all, I like it. Love it.
