  • Great tent if not raining and really windy

    Maggie (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Used the tent bank Holiday weekend and we had alot of rain come the air vents in the side. Apart from that it was a great with plenty of room.
  • Not suitable for moderately windy conditions

    Alastair (United Kingdom)
Used for 7 to 12 months
We have only used this tent twice (3 nights in total) but two poles split on the second occasion so I can't recommend this tent.
It is relatively easy to put up but would be a struggle for one. I managed with the help of my 8 and 10 year old children.
It is spacious for 3 and I think would easily fit a family of 4, 5 might be a push.
It has relatively few guy ropes, which may contribute to poor wind stability.
Our first trip with this tent was great (August sunshine S. England 2017), and if there is very light wind or rain it functions fine.
I think there are 2 main problems with this tent though :
    1.The front (outer) door does not close at the bottom and cannot be pegged in the middle. This means the wind can blow it in and rain flows onto the ground sheet and accumulates. This would be annoying for a trip of more than a day in bad weather. We had puddles forming after an hour of moderate rain;
    2. The tent completely failed and blew over (with my 10 year-old daughter inside!) in squally weather (rain and gusting wind, August 2018 Southern England - same Campsite as first trip - not the Alps or Scottish Highlands!).
Initially the pegs were pulling out of the ground, however we managed to get these back in and eventually the tent was secure. My daughter went inside to pack up her things, all zips were done up. And then a gust of window blew the entire tent over, and I later discovered two split poles.
I have camped in far worse conditions, this was not a storm or a gale, so I am quite shocked at how poorly this tent coped.
I would use it again if we can get replacement poles, but only in very very good weather conditions.
  • Quechua Arpenaz 5.2 Family Tent

    Steve (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
Compact package but really pleased with the size; space and layout of the tent. Light and airy. Have been used to in-built ground sheet/internal sections in previous tents but the Arpenaz worked perfectly well and there were no leaks!
No problems with wind and rain and felt secure in both.
    Highly recommended!

  • Excellent value for money

    Sam (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
Just come back from our first ever camping trip with this tent. The weather was horrendous, torrential rain and thunderstorms not to mention gale force winds . This tent stood strong and kept us dry.
Would recommend buying an additional ground sheet as we did. Really cannot fault it. The weather could have put us off but the tent was fab so we are definitely going again but hopefully when it’s dry!!!
