Product feature
  1. Why have we created a brake lever specifically for children?
Because children have smaller hands than adults, it's not always easy for them to reach the brake lever. That's why our engineers and designers have designed them to be closer to the handlebars for easier grip. The brakes are now in reach of little hands!
  2. Front suspension to cushion unpredictable terrain
Take on new obstacles (roots, stones, gravel, etc.) with ease thanks to the travel of the front fork.
  3. Changing gear
This bike is equipped with a grip shifter to change between the 6 speeds: an easier, safer system as the child's hands stay on the handlebars. Changing gear to adapt to the terrain is easier than ever!
  4. Controlled braking
Two V-Brake pads for effective braking. These brakes are composed of callipers that exert more or less pressure on the rim to slow or stop the rotation of the wheels.
  5. Frame designed for mountain biking
This robust steel frame is designed to overcome obstacles on all your MTB outings.
  6. A reinforced, ergonomic saddle
A saddle with a sporty design, designed with care to adapt to the morphology of children. It is equipped with a plastic section on the rear (a bumper) to protect against any impacts.
  7. 20" wheels and MTB tyres
The tyres are designed for mountain biking. The side lugs provide good grip when turning. The recommended pressure is indicated on the tyre sidewall. 20-inch 1.7 to 2.2 cross-section inner tube with Schrader valve.
  8. MTB fittings
This MTB is equipped with a bell, a stand, lighting, wheel reflectors and a derailleur guard. The frame is also compatible with other B'Twin accessories: - front and rear mudguards - rear pannier rack

  3. Product restrictions
    Wear a cycling helmet.
  4. Product catchline
To ensure riders can easily overcome rough terrain, we've equipped this 20-inch MTB with a suspension fork. Easily overcome hilly paths with the 6 speeds.

  • No travel in suspension

    Andrew (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
For most bikes you can switch the travel on or off but on this bike there is no apparent way to do this. So it doesn't really work.
  • Excellent value for money

    kirsty (United Kingdom)

We purchased this bike for our sons birthday and he loves it. The bike looks really grown up and he finds it easy to ride. The same spec of bike anywhere else was nearly so he the price of this one.
  • B'TWIN Racing Boy 500 Kids - LEAKING FORKS

    Tom (United Kingdom)
Used for 7 to 12 months
Purchased this for my son for Xmas Dec 2017.
    Cant fault the bike...accept....
The right front fork is now leaking black residue can be seen around the seal.
I have sent to emails requesting what can be done about this... to no avail.
    Very disappointing customer service.
  • Great bike

    Dad (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This is a great bike for a growing boy. not too expensive with enough spec to teach him about using gears etc. Could use a place to put a water bottle but apparently there is an adaptor of some sort so I will be popping into store to find out.
  • v poor service

    Barry (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
bike is ok but decathlon lost my order meaning the cancelled it before even informing me it was ready meaning i had to pay twice for the bike and await a refund. Bike was also assembled very dangerously and handlebars became detached whilst my son was riding within 5 minutes of getting home. fed back but customer service is v poor
    Response of the brand
    Dear Sir,
I'm very sorry to read that you encountered issues with your order as well as the bike set up.
Could you tell me if the 2nd bike was delivered to your home or was it set up in a store? if it was set up in a store, could you tell me which one?
All of our teams receive dedicated bike building training and have the correct tools at their disposal to safely and correctly set up customer bike which is why I wish to investigate this further.
Your reply will not be public and will come directly to my inbox.
I look forward to hearing from you.
