Product feature
  1. How can I be sure my trousers will give me proper protection in bad weather?
The 100 trousers were developed with a sophisticated component and assembly to prevent water from entering and reduce wind chill in order to cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To check that they are waterproof, these trousers were placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier has to cope with. We validated this product's waterproofing by skiing in different conditions for several days.
  2. What's the point of having water-repellent trousers?
The water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. The 100 trousers are equipped with water-repellent components that prolong their resistance to bad weather. This high-tech solution will keep you dry for longer on the ski slopes. For it to remain effective, you must repeat this treatment regularly using the products sold in our stores.
  3. "Coated" trousers: what are the advantages of this coating?
The coating is a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of a fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by the body's physical activity to escape. So you stay dry for greater comfort while practising your sport.
  4. What are "breathable" trousers?
It is a product that lets the water vapour produced by the body during exercise escape, keeping you dry. To measure the breathability of a fabric, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat, called RET, with a standardised ISO 11092 test. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wed'ze uses high-tech materials and solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) that help prevent condensation inside the garment. RET of the Essential trousers < 12 "
  5. What is the difference between water repellent and waterproof properties?
The water repellent properties of a fabric are what makes water run off its surface without seeping in. Wed'ze trousers come with a water-repellent component which extends its resistance to bad weather and prevents water from getting in. It is an additional technical solution to make sure you stay dry for as long as possible throughout the day. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.
  6. How can I be sure that the trousers will keep me warm?
We use wadding for insulation to help keep you warm. This polyester-based synthetic material traps air, the quantity of which will depend on the size of the fibres. Standard, technical and silicone wadding is available, each with its own distinct properties: warmth, low weight, elasticity, etc. All the wadding materials that we use are made with recycled materials – usually plastic bottles.
  7. How should I dress to avoid having cold legs on the slopes?
To keep your legs warm and dry: wear 2 breathable layers, e.g. 1 base layer or 1 pair of ski tights to retain warmth and 1 pair of ski trousers to protect you from the weather conditions.
  8. Not feeling cold is a good start, but does it protect me from the wind?
Do you know that you feel colder in the wind? Consequently, when the outdoor temperature is 0°C and the wind speed is 20 km/h, it feels like -10°C. The so-called "windproof" components reduce this wind chill effect by stopping the air flow caused by the actual wind and the apparent wind generated by the sporting activity.
  9. How can I prevent snow from getting into my trousers?
Our trousers have elasticated gaiters at the bottom of the legs that cover the boots. If you fall or come into contact with fresh snow, the seal created by the gaiter keeps the snow out.
  10. A score to compare the environmental footprint of products
The product's environmental footprint is calculated for its entire life and with various indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental data of its products. For more information:

    Response of the brand
    Dear Sir,

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with these trousers. They are our first technical price product and as such are not as waterproof as some of our other models. These trousers are meant to be worn in the snow for 2 or 3 hours. However if you had a longer period in bad weather conditions, or if you were sitting down a lot in the snow, they would tend to get wetter faster.

If you would like, you can exchange or return these ski pants and perhaps find another model which offers a higher waterproofing. Should you need any assistance, please feel free to contact our customer loyalty team:
