Product benefits
  1. Durability
The boots are made with highly durable materials and assemblies.
Product feature
  1. Footwear waterproofing test.
These boots, which have been laboratory and field tested, are equipped with a waterproof membrane that provides optimum waterproofing and breathability. First, the boot is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, the boots are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half-immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
  2. 3 levels of waterproofing.
In the impermeability test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (about 4 km walk) 4000 flexes (about 8 km walk) 8000 flexes (about 16 km walk). Of course, after this test or in use, the boot regains its original waterproofing once dry.
  3. Footwear waterproof rating.
The TREK 500 boot has been tested and validated for 8000 flexes, equivalent to a 16 km walk, in water reaching the middle of the upper.
  4. Laboratory tests
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: - secure fastening of eyelets and hooks - sole assembly - toxicology - UV resistance - abrasion of the sole and upper components - accelerated ageing.
  5. Care instructions
Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the boot and remove dirt or mud residue. Then, air dry away from any heat source. Finish with a nourishing cream to keep the leather nice and flexible and prolong the lifespan of the boot.
  6. Buying tips
Try on both shoes, while standing up, with socks worn for hiking. Try several models and sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the heel seating and the front of the foot on a downward slope. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Gradually wear in your boots during your first few hikes so that they conform to your feet.
  7. Manufacturing
Trek 500 boots are made in the European Union, in Romania. Most of the materials are of European origin.
