  6. Waterproofness of the garment
This garment has been shower-tested using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
  7. Coating element
The coating of your MH100 jacket is like a layer of "paint" applied on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof while remaining breathable.
  8. Component breathability
To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance RET (test based on ISO 11092) is measured. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric 920 = little or no breathability. The RET of your MH100 jacket is 12 (breathable fabric).
  9. Water-repellent properties of the component
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. Water repellency is obtained by a treatment applied on the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every three washes). All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water-repellent treatment.
  10. Additional recommended products
Care products: spray or liquid water repellent treatment in the washing machine. To renew the fabric's water-repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
  11. Environmental measures
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over the entire lifecycle of the product using different indicators. A global ABCDE rating is provided to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with each other (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is a voluntary participant in this environmental labelling initiative. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

  • Great value

Nice jacket, fits well, bought to replace my old Quechua jacket. The only thing that stops me giving it 5 stars is the size of the pockets, they're too small, I can not fit my keys and mobile phone in the same pocket!

I ordered this jacket in the sale. It was useful to be able to pick it up from Asda as I do not have a Decathlon store nearby and in fact I usually shop in the Decathlon store in San Javier when I am on holiday in Spain. I've worn it at few times but not yet in wet weather so I've not tested it out for water proofing. I do like this jacket, love the colour and the hood is a good fit. I maybe should have ordered the bigger size so I could fit a fleece underneath for the really cold weather but this will do fine with a thick jumper for walking in the Autumn and early Winter.
  • Ok jacket, POCKETS TOO SMALL

Got this jacket in Calais on holiday in August and was impressed by the reviews, although I agree that the lining of the collar is a bit disappointing/cheap. The rain finally just kicked off in the UK, so I have been wearing it for about a week. Have found the pockets to be really shockingly, stupidly small. I can't even fit my ordinary smartphon, wallet or hands into any of the three pockets. I wish I could return it, but I don't want to travel all the way to Oxford, London or Reading.
