    Product feature
    1. Waterproofing of the garment
This garment has been shower-tested using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower. This jacket's fabric is water repellent: this is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. In addition we sealed 100% of the seams
    2. How to maintain the waterproofing of your jacket over the long term
The fabric's water repellent properties must be reactivated in order to preserve long-lasting effective waterproofing: we recommend that this is done every 3 washes or after wearing a dozen times in the rain. After washing, the garment must be thoroughly rinsed, after which the water repellent properties can be easily reactivated by warming: for a short period of time in a tumble dryer or with a hair-dryer, for example. You will find all our tips in the maintenance manual of this product sheet.
    3. Technical hood
The hood can be adjusted in height with a drawstring. It can be adjusted in depth thanks to a velcro strip at the back of the hood. The hood has a shape memory visor for a good protection of the face.
    4. Full pocket system
7 pockets in all! 2 side pockets to warm your hands. 2 large outside bellow pockets with flap and snap button. 1 outside chest pocket and 1 inside pocket with zip to keep belonings safe. 1 inside mesh pocket for your gloves, for example, to keep them warm against your body!
    5. Technical linings
Bi-material lining around the body: mesh in the back to enhance the breathability of the garment and nylon at the hips to maximize the freedom of movement and abrasion-resistance. Ultra soft touch material in the hood for even more comfort.
    6. Component waterproofing
We test a fabric's resistance to water pressure by measuring the height of a column of water supported by the fabric in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The better the fabric resists pressure, the more waterproof it is. Components with a 2000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hour).
    7. Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity is evaporated, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric / 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = fabric is not breathable or has low breathability.
    8. Water-repellent component
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every three washes). All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment.

Very good jacket. Light and easily packable. Good size useful pockets but would have been better if inner pocket was a little larger. Good easily adjustable hood. Very light weight and waterproof. Easy to use as part of a layering system.

Good waterproof material. Seems to be well made. Couple of nice big pockets. Light and not much insulation so could be useful in the warmer months.
Doesn't have any 'breathable' branding so maybe sweaty in hot weather. Breathable jackets are usually much more expensive than this one.

The coat is so good I’m now in France and will find a Decathlon to purchase another. Ideal for walking the dogs in bad weather.

Absolutely fabulous jacket, I live on the west coast of Scotland and get battered with wind and rain whilst walking my dog, this jacket not only keep me dry but surprisingly warm, considering it's lightweight construction, with plenty of pockets. Fabulous jacket for walking in.
