    Product feature
    1. Are there any particular safety precautions to take when using the Town 9?
You should always wear protective equipment (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads) when scootering. Most serious accidents take place during the first few months of use: Take the time to learn the basics of use to master speed and braking in any emergency situation and whatever the weather conditions (particularly on wet terrain).
    2. How do you fold/unfold the scooter?
Hands-free and in one second! What's the trick? Simply stand opposite your scooter with the frame straight in front of you and press the pedal, and your Town 9 is folded in less time than it takes to read the instructions.
    3. Is the Oxelo Town 9 scooter suited to long journeys around town (2 to 5 km)?
Yes! The rubber grip on the deck and the ultra-comfy ergonomic handles with palm rests help reduce vibrations for a more pleasant ride. The TOWN 9 adult scooter also has a bell so that you can make yourself heard. Last but not least, the handlebar is slightly forward for better steering control.
    4. What is the glide quality like on the Oxelo Town 9?
We have equipped this adult scooter with large 200 mm HIGH BOUNCE PU rubber wheels for high-performance scootering. A large wheel enhances push-off, thus decreasing the amount of effort required. The ABEC 7 bearings are very high quality and, by making it easier for you to push yourself along, limit fatigue.
    5. How much does the Town 9 weigh?
6.4 kg making it easy to move in "trolley" mode: fold it up and drag it along like a suitcase.
    6. What is the maximum weight the Town 9 can take?
      100 kg.
    7. What safety precautions should you take with the Town 9 scooter?
We recommend checking your scooter before and after each ride to ensure that there is no abnormal play and no cracks or sharp edges.
    8. What should you do if there's play in the handlebar?
What with bumps in the road, repeated jarring and vibrations, it's normal for certain parts to come loose. You can have all of the screws tightened at your local decathlon workshop or do so yourself with the Allen keys provided (designed to fit all of the scooter's parts).
    9. How are our products tested?
All of our scooters have been lab tested. These tests check compliance with the European standards for scooters, as well as looking for wear. For example, one of our tests involves a machine folding the scooter 10,000 times to check its folding system. As well as lab tests we do field tests - some measured and others based on the testers' opinions - to really put the product through its paces. The result is a tested, proven product.
    10. How should you maintain your scooter?
The wheels and bearings are wearing parts. Remember to check them and change them if necessary. You can repair and extend the lifespan of your scooter with spare parts that can be ordered through your local Decathlon store's Workshop.

    • Doesn’t last long

      Lucas (United Kingdom)
Used for More than 1 year
After using it for almost 2 years, it was time to change the wheels, I’ve boght 2 new ones which costs £10 each. But the screw got stuck and loose, Decathlon support and bike workshop wasn’t able to fix it, they said to find a way myself to break the screw, and I also have to buy new screws which only they sell it.

I’m so disappointed, I’ll never buy anything from Decathlon again.
    • Great commute scooter

      Antony (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I have had several different brands scooter as i has some distance to travel from train to office and this one has been the best by far, not sure how long it will last but as its a great price definitely worth the money.
      i would highly recommend one!
    • Oxelo Town 9

      Teresa (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
What an excellent scooter I’m a mature adult and I love it, the breaks are good the scooter is really sturdy and easy to ride. This scooter folds down so it handy to pop in the boot of the car and take anywhere.
The only thing I would like to see added to this scooter is a stand
    • Could be better

      Mariana (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This is a practical product but the brake doesn´t work really well or is not strong enough.
After only 3 months, the bell is already broken.
The folding system is useful though.
    • Well worth the investment!

      Roy (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
I recently changed jobs and didn't much fancy having to use London Underground everyday, so decided to buy one and over the course of 5 weeks, the scooter has paid for itself!
Quick and easy to open & close the trigger mechanism is perfect!
It folds up and is able to fit in the luggage rack on my train, or even under my seat if necessary.
The main stalk of the handlebars is just right to be able to hold bike lights (which I've now fitted for winter use)
I use a combination of road and pavements as I've found that works better in rush hour. You're not legally required to use the road as it doesn't have gears, but the road can be the easier option sometimes.
I can squeeze through gaps that not even bikes can manage, and found that I was pretty much quicker than the underground train covering the distance I need to!! Not bad huh?!
The brakes are not that good in the wet, but you have to use common sense! Slow it down a bit and look ahead...always. Also the wheels can be a bit jittery in the wet. London isn't exactly nice flat pavements everywhere and I've actually come off due to the wheel slipping on a raised paving stone.
My only criticism is that it would be nice to have the option of wheels like the Oxelo Dirt has.
Other than that, this is an excellent bit of kit.
I had an issue with the 1st one I bought and the staff member at Decathlon Lakeside couldn't have been more helpful.
