    7. Component waterproofing
A fabric's resistance to water pressure is measured by the height of a column of water that can be supported by the fabric in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A waterproof rating of 2000 mm means that the fabric can withstand the pressure exerted by 2000 mm column of water (the equivalent of a rain shower lasting for two hours).
    8. Waterproofing
Technologies®: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 100 litres of water/sqm/hour for 4 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a violent storm in the mountains. Please visit Novadry.com for more information.
    9. Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
    10. Breathability
In addition to breathable fabrics, Quechua develops technical solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh etc.) to improve the overall ventilation of its trekking jackets and over-trousers.
    11. Water repellent component
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment
    12. A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated based on its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is applied to help you readily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

I used this Jacket for the three peak challenge, I didn't you the warm layer, only becauseI didn't need it. However I can see myself using this when it gets cooler. The jacket itself was rain proof and kept the wind out when I needed it up the top.
    • Warm as toast, dry as a bone.

Lovely warm jacket and inside coat too. Fit and styling good.
One criticism is that the loops for joining the coats together are in white/beige cheap looking tape on the women's version.
The men's version has loops of the same colour as the jacket. Much nicer.
