TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

New EDR bikes

EDR, which stands for EnDuRance, is the new line of bikes from Van Rysel dedicated to performance.
But make no mistake, "endurance" and "speed" are not mutually exclusive! That is the challenge that our design team took up in creating this new line.
EDR frames are the perfect answer for competitive riders looking for a bike that is as good in the mountains as it is on bike paths.
The perfect combination of rigidity, low weight and comfort, will allow you to leave your past records in the dust

EDR frame and fork

Weighing only 890 grammes (net, size M), the EDR frame and fork are made with high modulus carbon fibre that provides excellent rigidity, making it responsive to every acceleration.
Fork weight: 382g
The fibre design is designed to satisfy the needs of the most demanding climbers and racers both in the mountains and on the flats. It meets all the requirements of high level amateur and pro riders.Press-fit 86 bottom bracket and Di2 compatible frame.

DEDA ZERO 2 Handlebar and Stem

DEDA ZERO 2 handlebar
The Zero 2 handlebar features DEDA's patented compact RHM (rapid hand movement) geometry and an aerodynamic cross-section, making it easy and comfortable to hold.
The DEDA Zero 2 is made from a lightweight 6061 alloy for reliability and durability.
End-end width: XS, S: 400 mm; M, L, XL: 420 mm.
Deda Zero 2 stem

Length: XS:90 mm, S: 100 mm, M: 110 mm, L: 120 mm, XL: 130 mm

SRAM RIVAL GROUPSET AND QUARQ POWER METER

The bike is equipped with the SRAM Rival eTap AXS complete groupset and Quarq power meter. A power meter is a must for cyclists who want to plan their training to help them improve.

Total drivetrain weight: 3045 g with power meter

The electronic groupset has two separate batteries (one for each derailleur). You can use the SRAM app to set up your bike and view data from your rides.

DISC BRAKES

SRAM Rival disc brakes with 160 mm discs at the front and 140 mm at the back.
The SRAM Rival brakes are hydraulic. This gives you progressive, more powerful braking than with cable-actuated hydraulic brakes.

You will need to bed these brakes in. Simply brake gradually 20 times at a low speed (20 km/h), then repeat at 30 km/h. Make sure to bed in both brakes.
Bedding in creates more friction between the disc and brake pad.

DRIVE TRAIN MAINTENANCE

Please note that it is important to regularly service your drivetrain, especially if you ride in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads).
Regular maintenance will help your drivetrain to last for longer.

You should regularly check your chain with our chain wear indicator,
which is available on our website.

LIFESPAN OF A DRIVE TRAIN

When buying a bike, it's important to take into account the cost of servicing it, especially as regards the drivetrain.
The amounts below are averages and are given so that you have a general idea of what to expect. They will of course vary depending on the care you take of your drivetrain.

The average lifespan of a well-maintained chain is 5000 km.
The average lifespan of a cassette is 10,000-12,000 km.

A poorly maintained chain can jump, which can damage your bike's frame.

BRAKE MAINTENANCE

Hydraulic brakes function using a closed circuit between your brake lever and your caliper.
There is a hose to maintain the seal.
With time, you'll see a normal loss of pressure in your hoses, leading to a loss of braking efficiency. When your brake guard is too soft, or you stop short against your handlebar, you need to bleed your system. This requires specific tools and knowledge.

WARNING AND ADJUSTMENT

PLEASE NOTE:never squeeze the brakes without a wheel being attached, as you could get the brake pads stuck together.

If your disc touches, follow these instructions to re-align the wheel and the caliper:

- Loosen the wheel axle
- Brake hard and tighten the wheel axle at the same time
- If the disc touches again, you'll need to do the same thing while loosening the caliper
- If the problem continues, visit a store.
