It gives you energy but has a low sugar intensity thanks to the maltodextrin. Plus, the flavour is mild.
WHEN SHOULD I TAKE MY CAFFEINE-ENRICHED HYDROGEL?
Take one Cola HydroGel + as soon as you feel a loss of alertness or feeling of fatigue (as it takes 60 to 90 minutes to ensure optimal bioavailability of caffeine in your body). Unlike regular gels, you don't need to drink water to assimilate the gel. This is very handy if you don't have any water on you!
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF CAFFEINE?
Caffeine makes you more alert and diminishes the sense of the difficulty of the physical effort and the pain. As a result, it helps you to improve your performance. Caffeine leaves a bitter taste (like coffee), that may make you want to rinse your mouth out afterwards. If you hate bitterness, this product is not for you.
WHAT SHOULD I TAKE IN ADDITION TO MY GEL?
Nutritionists recommend 60 g of carbohydrates (= sugar) per hour of sport for workouts longer than 3 hours. This 62 g gel contains 23 g of carbohydrates, of which 8.4 g are simple sugars. We therefore recommend that you drink 500 ml of isotonic drink per hour as well as the gel. No drink holding solution? You can take this gel on its own, alternating with the caffeine-free peach flavour one, at the rate of 2 to 3 packs per hour.
