recommended fly line no.
From no. 8 fly lines
animation
Pike often like slow swimming motions and imitations which have a floaty swimming motion. We recommend using these streamers with an intermediate or sinking fly line and to use long pulls with pauses of varying lengths.
Recommendations for use
The Texan hook is an excellent solution for fishing in crowded areas, but like the case for fishing with a soft lure on this type of hook, a few adjustments need to be made. In a very busy area, spike the hook tip through the fibres to pass it through back. In a moderately busy area, split the streamer's fibres on one side of the hook to stimulate striking at the moment of attack. At the point of striking, snare with the fly line rather than the rod
Customisation
By adding sinker line winding around the shank of the hook, you'll not only have a streamer that descends rapidly for optimal use with a floating fly line, you'll also get a swimming motion with more pronounced jerks.
