Pike tend to like slow swimming motions and imitations with a floaty motion. We recommend using these streamers with intermediate or sinking fly lines, and to use long tugs with pauses of varying lengths.

Recommendations for use

The Texan hook is an excellent solution for fishing in crowded areas, but there are a few adjustments to be made for optimal performance. In a very crowded area, spike the tip of the hook through the fibres, so it passes through the back. In a moderately crowded area, split the streamer's fibres on one side of the hook to stimulate snaring at the moment of attack. When the fish bites, snare it with the fly line rather than the rod

Customisation

By adding sinker line, wound around the shank of the hook, you'll not only have a streamer that sinks at a higher speed for use with a floating fly line, you'll also get a swimming motion with more pronounced jerks.
