WHAT IS IT FOR?
Paddles are a piece of swimming equipment used to work the upper body (arms, shoulders, chest, back). They are worn on the hands to increase traction and speed in the water. They let you feel the catch of each stroke better.
Four sizes of paddles are available:
- S: power + / frequency ++
- M: power ++ / frequency +
- L: power +++ / frequency-
- XL: power ++++: frequency - -
USING THE PADDLES
You can use the paddles in one of two ways:
1 - Fasten the straps of your paddles around your wrists to get the most stability. This is the most recommended when beginning to use them.
2- Use without the wrist strap when you get a bit more experience, this will help you get a better feel for your stroke technique and correct movements properly (the paddle will move more easily if you make the wrong manoeuvre)
PRECAUTIONS
Just like all large hand paddles, size L hand paddles are very physically demanding and could cause tendon injury if used by young swimmers without prior instruction or too intensively.
