TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

How do you choose the right wetsuit?

The top criterion when choosing a surfing wetsuit is the water temperature. The water temperature varies based on the location and time of year. So you should always ensure that the water temperature corresponds to the recommended temperature range: Warm water over 21°C. Moderate water between 17 and 22°C. Cold water between 12 and 17°C. Very cold water between 7 and 12°C. Visit seatemperature.org to find out the temperature of your spot.

Choosing the right size

To take full advantage of the features of your wetsuit, you need to choose the right size. A surfing wetsuit should be very close-fitting and there should be no visible creases. When dry, it's normal to feel like it's too tight, but that discomfort will disappear once the wetsuit is wet. If your wetsuit is too large, creases will form and cause irritation, and the insulation will decrease (letting water in).
Try it on before purchasing!

Materials

This wetsuit is made of real neoprene to ensure better thermal comfort. The neoprene has a thermal lining on the chest and back for greater warmth. Neoprene thickness: 4 and 3 mm.

Collar

The collar was designed to limit water from coming in. Depending on your individual sensitivity, you can wear a UV top under the wetsuit to limit irritation. Applying a cream such as Vaseline to high-friction areas (neck, armpits) is also recommended if used for long periods of time. Take care as you place the flap inside the wetsuit in order to limit the risk of irritation from the zip and the collar.

FASTENING

The closure is at the back of the wetsuit for greater comfort during surfing (lying down while paddling).

Pull closure

Legislation requires a short cord on zip closures on children's products to prevent the risk of strangulation on the youngest users. Starting at age 10, the cords are longer and can be used independently. A small rip-tab prevents the zip from inadvertently opening while in use.

Waterproof assembly

The seams are stitched and taped to ensure watertightness and durability. The seam is said to be blind, meaning that the thread does not cross the entire thickness of the neoprene, thus preventing water from passing through.

Multi-sport wetsuits

This wetsuit is also compatible with other water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, active walking (along the coast), or stand-up paddle.

Quiksilver

Quiksilver is an Australian company founded in 1969 by two surfers, Alan Green and John Law. Specialising in surf sports, it now designs lines of technical equipment and clothing. Their European headquarters are located in Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
