Understanding the size of a red dot
The size of red dots is usually given in MOA. MOA stands for Minute Of Angle and is equal to 1/60 of a degree. This MOA corresponds with a distance 29 mm to a distance of 100 m. This means that, for this red dot, the 3 MOA point completely covers a disc (3 x 29 mm= 87 mm diameter) at a distance of 100 metres. A cross-multiplication lets you deduce the size of the dot, no matter the distance.
