What use are proteins?
Proteins help maintain muscle mass. It is one of the 3 essential macro-nutrients for our bodies (the others are lipids and carbohydrates). The French National Agency for Food, and Occupational Health and Safety recommends consuming 0.83 per kilo of body weight* every day.
* For example, for a woman weighing 60 kilos: 60 x 0.83 = around 49 g of protein per day.
