Good robust piece of kit very pleased. Thanks
Just purchased this seatbox but was unable to view the box in any local or nearby stores. The seatbox is well made and the wheels and pole rest are well positioned so it can be used as a trolley for rods and nets. The wheels are very easily removed and use up less room in the boot of a car than a separate trolley. The keep net clip in the centre of the foot plate is great and the other accesories are all good quality and usefull. However the box does not fit through a standard door in the uk if being pulled as a trolley. So I have made some mods to the leg positioning which could be done by any basic diy'er.
I basically cut off 2.5 inches off the box section after removing the leg support, did this on each one and now the width is down to 29 inches and fits through a standard door. The pole rest also comes apart so I cut this down by 4 inches to make everything look square. Just hope this review makes it to the manufacturer so they can make the changes in production. If I could upload a picture you;d see the difference 5 inches in width makes not only to practciality but also the appearence
I can't see where you ask questions?
Anyway... it says "Our design teams developed this product to have, in one seat box, all the angler's fishing accessories close to hand", but I can't see anything deep enough to store reels & bait boxes. Please explain?
When sat on your box with the side accessories in the way of the sides (as they would be - the picture shows the box set up silly high), what opens up at the front (under knees) to get handy items out (like plumb, disgorger, etc)?
Used for first time and its so easy for me to wheel to my peg. Only downside is lifting into my car. Other than that its perfect and comfy.
excellent product used 4 times so far and meets all my needs.
This box is worth every penny I have only had it a week and used it on a 8 hour fishing session very comfortable no issues with back ache. Easy to set up. Things I would change would be to have 6 extendable legs as the box comes with 4 and possibly bump the legs to the 36mm. If you are looking for a box that is good value then this is the one.
Used for three trips so far. Overall I love it and it has transformed my fishing with all the places for my gear readily available. The seat takes my weight and has been used for more than 4 hours on the trot. Lovely.
Two things I think Caperlan should be aware of:
In my case there were no instructions on how to assemble, or operate, the seat leading to many frustrating hours trying to work out various things like how does the foot rest come out, how to keep it stable etc.
But the biggest problem for me was the width - I live in the UK in a terraced house. I am 74 and wanted the wheels to aid me moving things about. I cannot get it through any of the doors of the house (FRONT, INTER, BACK)- it is 1.5 inches too wide. I can just about manouvre it through if I take off the side projecting retaining screws, but then the feet legs flap about and have to be dismantled every time. Not a good design for where I live! Def lose one star for this design fault!
Apart from the beginning and ending of my trips the actual fishing bit in the middle is fantastic with this seat now I have worked out all its foibles. Thanks Caperlan.
The item is very well made and robust and well thought out everything you need is there only one thing I found no where to store the bulky stuff like reels unless you buy the other box apart from that very good quality
Well made and thought out fishing station, Would have been good to have backrest as an optional accessorie . Have placed order for feeder arm and umbrella arm , Also very good
price compared to other brands
This angling station was bought to upgrade my old 6-draw Kiley box. As solid as that one was in wood, this one is in metal. It really is outstanding value, well thought out and well made. Ok, so it doesn't have a deep base for my reels and bulky items(though you can buy one), but there's more than enough room for bits n bobs. I'll have to get used to standing-up to get into the under-seat compartments as opposed to sliding out draws, but this shouldn't be a chore. I'm looking forward to getting used to it.This isnt a light box by any sense of the imagination, so I see the wheels being used frequently just getting from the car to the peg, But I'm hoping the bespoke kit it comes with, will lead me to carry less 'scaffolding' with me on future angling trips.
Well thought out/loads of room/adaptable
A tad heavy though liveable with
