How to choose your cross-country ski poles?
Choosing the right size of cross-country ski poles is essential for skiing properly.
For skate skiing: the poles are bigger in order to maximise the push-off
For classic cross-country skiing: the poles are smaller.
They can be made of:
Aluminium: they will be sturdy and heavy = ideal for beginners,
Fibreglass: they will be lighter, but more fragile,
Carbon fibre and other materials: very light and rigid.

There are two ways of choosing your pole size for SKI SKATING:
1- Choose poles that are at the height of your shoulders
2 - Multiply your height in cm X 0.89 to work out the size of your poles
How to choose the size of my CLASSIC CROSS-COUNTRY SKI poles?
There are two ways of choosing your pole size for CLASSIC skiing:
1- Choose poles that are at the height of your armpits
2 - Multiply your height in cm X 0.83 to work out the size of your poles
