Inflating Power of down/feather filling
For this down jacket filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, the fill power is guaranteed to be 660 CUIN or more (European standard). The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation.
COMPONENT WATERPROOFING OF THIS JACKET
The waterproofing of a fabric by a coating or a membrane is measured in Schmerbers or H20 mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.
WATERPROOFNESS OF THIS JACKET
The waterproofness of a jacket isn’t limited to just its components: the assembly technique of the different parts is also an evaluation criterion.
Whether heat-sealed or sewn then waterproofed, the overall waterproofness of your jacket is measured using a shower test developed by Decathlon, which simulates rain of different intensities.
As such, the TRAVEL 900 COMPACT waterproof jacket protects you from a storm, i.e. 30 cm of rain in 3 hours.
