OUR CHOSEN WADDING...
We've gone for a 100% polyester wadding weighing 125 g/m² on the body and 100 g/m² on the sleeves and hood. The wadding is composed of silicone-coated, spiral-shaped fibres that can be squashed right down and are incredibly strong. Despite being thin and light, this jacket is extremely insulating thanks to all of the air that gets caught inside it. It helps you retain heat even when wet.
WHAT IS WATER REPELLENCY? (not to be confused with waterproofing)
Water repellency is a fabric's ability to make water run off its surface, without absorbing it.
The fabric won't soak up water, keeping it warm and light. We've made the fabric water repellent by applying a treatment to the outer surface. This treatment needs to be reapplied periodically (we recommend doing so each time you wash it). You'll find suitable rewaterproofing products in our stores.
HOW CAN YOU REACTIVATE THE WATER REPELLENCY?
After you've washed your down jacket, we recommend using a rewaterproofing treatment to restore the outer fabric's water-repellent properties. Restoring the water repellency will make it perform reliably in the long term. You can find our waterproofing product in stores and online using product code 8554908.
